Vietnam deports nine Malaysians in a fraud ring

VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City police on April 29 expelled nine Malaysians involved in a fraud ring of property appropriation led by their compatriots.

The nine Malaysians, aged 25-38, entered Vietnam for various purposes such as tourism, visiting relatives or doing business.

When they came to Ho Chi Minh City, they were hired by a group of Malaysians to call and cheat people in Malaysia and other countries pretending to be court and procuracy agencies or police.

After exchanging information with the ASEAN National Police (ASEANAPOL), the Ho Chi Minh City Police raided a villa in Binh Trung Tay ward where the suspects were living, and caught them red-handed committing fraud.

The police later completed procedures to expel the group from Vietnam to their native country.
